Brahmin bags have always been a ladylike, safe choice. The woman that carried their bags was sophisticated, value-conscious, and generally over 40.
Women on the younger side may not have been attracted to this line in the past. However, the bags have definitely been reinvented with a new look. I was lucky to view the new line for the rest of the next year.
Their bags are fresh, lively, and classic. They easily mix with preppy styles from JCrew. The suede bags at left, for example, are perfect for the upcoming autumn season of clothes with rich colors and luxe fabrics. The clutch is to die for.
The emphasis for the coming year was certainly all about texture. Mixtures of supple leathers, buttery suedes, and lush velvets are prominent in the line now. Gentle folds in the designs emphasize the feminity, particularly the origami roses (which require 120 steps to construct!) that flow down the sides of some of the bags.
Stay tuned for more preview photos.
