Chanel has embraced an old world beauty, evocative of 30s spats and vaudevillian charm with these ankle boots from the Spring-Summer line.
Admittedly, there is a lot going on with this design. We’ve got tiny ball tassles at the ankle, a black grid, tulle bows with center broaches….and an open toe. Wow.
However, for some reason, I’m attracted to this shoe. Imagine a wide leg charcoal gray pant with some red or silver nail polish here — it would be a stunning effect.
The reason is because the boot takes a page from menswear, with the boxy cut and the cool color tones, and adds feminine embellishments with a 100mm heel (that’s 4″ for the Americans in the crowd). It straddles the fence in androgyny, shall we say.
Very pretty and theatrical shoe that definitely makes a statement. Love!
