Yesterday, I wrote about the joys of a certain well-designed golden clutch. Well, for the purposes of democracy and choice and in the American spirit, I am presenting an alternative choice for your perusing pleasure.
The Carlos Falchi clutch in golden python at left is a sparkling choice for fetes from the holidays to summers.
One of the biggest differences between this clutch and Cavalli’s is the strap. Falchi is more traditionally formal in its versatility, with an optional golden chain strapwith a 12″ drop. I like it without the strap, as the strap seems a bit too long — it would be dangling wildly from my shoulder otherwise.
Anyway, there are some essential features, such as the magnetic closure. The floral lining is a fun bonus. The size is ideal, at 11.75″ wide, 5.25″ high, and 1.5″ wide. $795 at Saks.
Sorry Californians, this bag’s not for you. California is one of the only states that has outlawed sales and imports of python skin, enacting a law in 1970. Shipping python for commercial profit will incur a $5,000 fine, but you’re free to bring or wear the material within CA state lines. Just don’t sell it, and you’re set!
