The Heloise bag is an interesting addition by designer Chloé. After the Paddington bag, does the designer have room for another “It” bag? Maybe so, and even though this is not the one, I think it has a lot of great qualities. (Hm, am I talking about a bag or a man?)

The colors in this grain are deep, rich shades of brown. The size is just right — 12″ wide, 8″ high, and 3″ deep. For a designer bag, it’s basically got a great deal of functionality. Pockets on either side of the bag (great placement, because you’ve got an easy access front pocket when worn on the shoulder — see the bag on the model) and a small zip pouch. These are definitely pluses. The shape of the bag is also nice, especially from the side. It has a nice rounded silhouette.

Minuses? The shoulder strap. It looks like Chloé went rebellious and gave it twenty piercings to give it a perceived edge. The gold hardware is nice, but I prefer monochromatic hardware — you can get much more wear out of the bag this way.

Overall a great bag from Chloé with her signature style — a little bohemian with rich leather and chunky hardware details. Available for $1225 at Net-a-Porter.
