I am in the camp of several other bag aficionados when I say that the monogrammed craze is the success of marketing — the monogrammed canvas (aka plastic) is simply canvas, and not a fabric worthy of the astronomical pricetags. I mean, they have a great heritage, but a little originality here? The Louis cult is everywhere.

However, there are a few bags from Louis that are quite distinctive, and not so overexposed. My choice is the Epi Leather Bowling Montaigne GM bag in ivory. Yes, ivory — chocolate and grey may be the prevailing colors of the upcoming colder seasons, but nothing looks so timelessly polished and classic as winter white with a scarf and gloves to match. The shape has rounded lines, yet with a defined structure. The bag is 15″ x 9″ x 7″, so you should be able to fit everything you need inside. It also comes in black, if you need a basic bag! $1560 at eLuxury.
