I’ve found a true love in handbag designers, as I dedicate another post to feature Roberta di Camerino. The curving lines in the Caravel are pleasingly smooth. This smaller version mixes up the usual textures of leather with Meridiana velvet, all in rich, muted tones of chocolate brown and black.

The circular design centers the bag, and the dual “R’s create symmetry to frame the bag. Even the interior is finished, as opening the bag reveals strong lines in silver that reveal an art deco feel.

All of the bags from this designer use clean lines and a classic design, so that you always have a bag to turn to when you want to feel Boston Proper. The great thing about bags in this line such as this one is that it can perennially ground your outfit on those days when you feel compelled to wear an items in a strong, unexpected color, like chartreuse or bright pink — it’s a perfect juxtaposition with an unexpected element in your ensemble. Beautiful in the upcoming months with evening wear as well. A must-have in your wardrobe! This bag is $1195 at Barneys.
